Terms
Reservation, Deposit
and Final Payment
Reservations should be made 60 days
or more prior to the departure date. Late reservations may be accepted
up to 10 days prior to departure date, subject to availability.
Deposit is US$200 per person. Without deposit, a reservation is
not considered confirmed. Final payment must be received 45 days
prior to the departure date. If a booking is made within 45 days
of the departure date, full payments are due immediately. Credit
Cards: Prices are discount cash rates. Credit cards may be accepted,
but a 4% fee will apply.
Cancellation:
The deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable
in the event of cancellation by consumer or agent after confirmation
of the booking. After payment is made, refunds will be made as follows:
All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing, either by
FAX, by letter or email.
Up to 45 days before departure, we will refund tour cost less deposit
44 to 15 days before departure, we will refund tour cost less US$
300.00 per person
14 days or few before departure, we will refund tour cost less 50%
of tour cost
Less than 8 days before departure, there are no refund. Plus any
and all charges assessed by land suppliers, cruise companies and
airlines, which could amount to over US$1,000 if cancellation occurs
within 44 days from departure date. Trip cancellation insurance
is highly recommended. On or after departure date: 100% forfeiture
of the tour price per person. All cancellations must be in writing
and will be effective upon receipt by Saloman Travel. When a reservation
is made through an agent, claims for refund must be made by the
agent making the original booking and such claim must be made within
30 days of the termination of the tour. No refund will be made to
those participants who break the journey regardless of the portions
of the package unused. If, owing to serious illness or injury, the
participant withdraws from the tour, a refund will be subject to
the consent of the local travel agent. No refund will be made to
those participants who have failed to secure valid travel documents
such as passport or visas.Refund on unused or changed tour arrangement
Portions of land arrangements, hotel accommodations or any other
service or feature of the tour which are not used are neither refundable
nor exchangeable
Air Transportation
Air transportation for all group programs
are based on round trip economy class travel. Our suppliers endeavor
to follow the itineraries precisely; however, if flights are not
available at the scheduled time, we reserve the right to modify
the air and land arrangements for smooth operation of the tour.
All airfares are subject to change without notice. Intra-China airfares
are included in the total fare.
Room Shares
We offer assistance in arranging room
shares but cannot guarantee that one will be available. Singles
who wish to share with another should request this at time of booking
and will be booked as a single but willing to share if possible.
If at departure there is another person willing to share then the
single supplement will be refunded.
Baggage
At owner's risk throughout. Baggage
allowance differs for the transpacific and China sections of your
tour. US and non-stop transpacific allowance is to be two pieces
of checked baggage totaling 106 inches (sum of the three dimensions).
Baggage allowance within China is one piece of baggage not over
44 pounds per person.
Tour Price does not include
Air transportation other than stipulated
in the actual itinerary, international airport embarkation taxes,
transportation of heavy baggage in excess of applicable allowance,
China Departure Airport fee and tips to tour director, tour guides,
drivers and in hotels. Not included in the tour price are the visa
fees, travel insurance, airport taxes, airport construction fees,
meals or services not mentioned, gratuities or personal expenses
such as excess luggage fees, laundry, postage, communications and
beverages.
Health
In order to ensure smooth operation
of our tours, Saloman Travel, requires exclusion of any person whose
health makes them unsuitable for long trips. Due to the extreme
altitude, we recommend that those who are planning to travel to
Tibet consult with their doctor before departure, especially those
with high blood pressure or heart conditions. In case of early departure
from Tibet due to altitude sickness, there will be no refund for
unused services. We therefore strongly recommend the purchase of
travel insurance for all travelers planning to visit Tibet.
Travel Documents
Passports of at least seven months'
validity from departure date is required for all tour participants.
All application must be forwarded to the Chinese consulate for its
approval. Visa fee is not included in the tour fares and is not
refundable. Saloman Travel can provide group visa and single visa
services. To be on Saloman Travel group visa, a passport copy and
processing fee must be received by Saloman Travel no later than
45 days before departure date. Vaccinations are not required. As
health requirements change without notice, please check with your
travel agent or Public Health Service for current required or recommended
inoculations. If the trip includes stop in Hong Kong, Hong Kong
visa is not required for U.S. citizens, but is required for non-U.S.
citizens.
Insurance
Saloman Travel is pleased to provide
our clients with our comprehensive travel insurance plan. We strongly
recommend the purchase of this plan to protect you and your travel
investment.
Responsibility
Saloman Travel acts as an agent. The
suppliers providing transportation, conveyance or accommodations
are independent contractors and are not agents or employees of ST.
All tickets, coupons and receipts issued by ST and all arrangements
for transport or conveyance or for hotel accommodations are made
by ST as agent of the suppliers. By utilizing the services of suppliers,
you agree that neither ST nor any subsidiary or affiliate of ST
shall be liable for any injury, damage, loss, accident or delay
incurred by your or those travelling with you directly or indirectly
from any acts or default of the suppliers or from any occurrence
or condition beyond the control of ST, including defects in vehicles
or breakdown in equipment. Nor shall ST be liable for any injury,
damage, loss, accident or delay resulting directly or indirectly
from delays, cancellations or changes in flights, itineraries, schedules,
steamers or other services, strikes, theft, sickness, weather, quarantine
or other causes. All tour itineraries and fares may be affected
by alteration or delays in air or surface transportation services
of the various countries. ST reserves the right to withdraw any
tour in this program and to make such alterations in the itineraries
as may be found desirable for the convenience of the parties or
the proper operation of the tour. ST reserves the right to decline
to accept or to retain any person as a member of the tour party
at any time. All tour fares shown, except in China, are based on
present value of foreign currencies in relation the US dollar in
effect on January 1, 2001, and in current tariffs on the same date
and are subject to change. In China, costs are quoted by Yamei Tour
Beijing, CITS Beijing and Beijing Xin Hua in US dollars. Tour fares
are subject to adjustment. The right is reserved to cancel the tour
prior to departure for any reason. In such case, a full refund of
all payments will constitute full settlement with the passenger.
Yamei Tour of China, CITS Beijing and Beijing Xin Hua have sole
and exclusive control over the operation of all tours in China.
Yamei Tour of China, CITS Beijing and Beijing Xin Hua reserve the
right to make alterations or adjustments in the itinerary as to
destination, transportation, accommodations and all other services.
Neither ST nor any subsidiary or affiliate of ST shall be responsible
for any such alterations made by Yamei Tour of China, CITS Beijing
and Beijing Xin Hua. The airlines concerned are not held responsible
for any act, or event during the time the passengers are not on
board their planes or conveyances. The passengers' contract in use
by the airlines concerned, when issued, shall constitute the sole
contract between the airlines and the purchaser of these tours and
/ or passenger. Any and / or all transportation companies herein
mentioned shall have or incur no responsibility for liability to
any traveler aside from their liability as common carriers. The
carrier's international tariff is available for inspection by the
passenger and will govern all aspects of the air transportation.
The General Conditions under which you agree to utilize the services
of ST in arranging the tours in this brochure / and at this web
site may not be amended in any way except in writing signed by an
authorized officer of ST. By utilizing the services of ST, you agree
that the exclusive venue for all claims, actions or proceedings
against ST of whatsoever nature arising out of this contract shall
be the State of New York and such claim, actions or proceedings
shall be determined according to the laws and jurisdiction of the
State of New York.
Complaints and Arbitration
If you have any complaints during your
holiday, please inform your local guide or our specified local representative
or the suppliers immediately of the situation so that we may promptly
attend to the matter. Failure to promptly notify us of your complaint
may reduce or eliminate any compensation that may be payable. In
cases where a satisfactory remedy is not achieved, you must submit
a written complaint to Saloman Travel within thirty days from the
end of your tour. Complaints received by ST. will be acted upon
promptly and fairly within the terms of these conditions. The parties,
i.e. you and Saloman Travel consent to the jurisdiction of the Supreme
Court of the State of New York, and of the United States District
Court for the State of New York, for all purposes in connection
with the arbitration. The parties consent that any process or motion
or other application to either of said courts and any paper in connection
with arbitration, may be served by certified mail, return receipt
requested by personal service or in such other manner as may be
permis-sible under the rules of the appl icable court or arbitration
tribunal, provided a reasonable time for appearance is allowed.
The parties further agree that arbitration proceedings must be instituted
within one year after the claimed breach occurred, and that the
failure to institute arbitration proceedings within such period
shall constitute an absolute bar to the institution of any proceeding
and a waiver of all claims.
